We cannot begin to express how wonderful our experience was with Denise at B&R Kennel and how absolutely perfect our new family addition is from this breeder!! Everything from her health, to her temperament, to how beautiful she is could not be better!! We are so in love with our girl and she was amazingly so calm on our 3 hour drive home & even slept thru the night. Denise is extremely passionate about her German Shepherd's and is responsible with their breeding program!! We were treated very kindly and professionally as I worked with her to find our new dog. When it came time to pick up my little puppy, she had everything document-wise ready for us and all the information ready to go. She was very knowledgeable about the breed and she was an absolute pleasure to deal with. And it doesn’t stop there, she checks in with me once in a while to make sure everything is okay with my dog and if there is anything else she can do to help if I ever needed it. She is very caring about the dogs she breeds and cares for them long after they have been adopted. Denise was extremely responsive and professional when it came to pairing my family with the perfect puppy. The drive, train-ability, temperament and personality of this pup has been a God send. Denise had all of the puppy’s (Miriam’s) vaccines, examinations and certifications/administrative paperwork squared away for a smooth pick up. Denise’s dedication to early exposure & training was evident right from our pick up through our lengthy trip home. Our puppy has very quickly mastered crate training and is progressing well with overall house training. She was clearly socialized safely as she has manners around family dogs and human family members that are advanced for her age. Miriam has also walked well on a lead since our first day home, making potty & house training a breeze. Also due to Denise’s process, within a couple days of having Miriam at home, she has honed her basic obedience commands (come, sit, down, paw, leave it, etc. at 8 weeks). Post pick up, Denise has continued to go out of her way to make sure our puppy’s transition into the family has gone smoothly, answering all my questions along the way. Her love and expertise for her dogs are unmatched. I am truly looking forward to watching Miriam learn and grow up and look forward to working with Denise in the future!

Denise was very easy to work with. I must say she does an incredible job of raising pups. We purchased Marquess, now Ranger, and he's so calm, very smart, confident. I feel he is going to be easy to train. He already goes in his crate no problem. He is already catching on with potty training. And he is even been on long walks in the woods. Really adventurous and curious. Such a good boy. I am thankful for the wonderful preliminary work she put into this boy.

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Denise. She was very knowledgeable about the breed and was able to provide us with a lot of information about our Bo mans parents health history etc.. Our puppy is an absolute joy and was even complimented by our trainer because of his attitude and personality! He said he was one of the best dogs he has ever worked with and has such an easy going attitude but loved to work! Bo is very calm, lovey and is such a joy to be around. We were lucky enough to find Denise and her B&R Kennel and get the best dog we could have ever asked for!!

Denise was SO wonderful to work with. When I lost my soul shepherd I was so lost and had looked at other dogs but knew I couldn’t possibly get another one who looked or was anything like my girl I lost. I told Denise what my needs were and she was so patient with me waiting until I was really ready to move forward and for the right litter and the right puppy. She FaceTimed with me so I could “meet” the puppies and told me all about their personalities and behavior prior to my making a selection. Kaz has been the light I needed. He’s super friendly with a great temperament. He’s a very healthy and happy cuddle bug and everyone who meets him loves him.

Denise Mayhew, B&R Kennel, is a wonderful breeder who gave us our beautiful German Shepherd puppies Chloe and Gracie. She was available to quickly answer questions and concerns starting with our first conversation, through the adoption process and she continues to be a valued advisor even post adoption. We also appreciated her making our girls’ parents AKC and medical paperwork for our own files and the initial registration process with AKC. Preparing our GSDs with crate training made the transition at our home very easy and the girls have learned to jump into their crates happily without it being an issue. Denise gave me my best friend about a year and a half ago (Bones). She is very knowledgeable about the breed! She is a very responsible breeder. We call her/text her all the time, still, for any advice and questions we may have regarding our shepherd and even our other dogs as well. During our purchase, she did a great job updating us and sending pictures of our pup. It was so sweet! She did a wonderful job keeping our puppy happy and healthy until it was time for him to come home with us and hasn’t had any medical issues since! He is a very smart and loving family dog. He loves people and is super friendly. Denise is always open to helping in any way she can and we always appreciate it!
